Hopping from one diet to the next is certainly something that I’ve done in the past. And I’ve done so for one simply reason…
On a low-fat diet, you crave fat. On calorie-restriction, you crave caloric-dense foods. The grass always seems greener on the other side. Besides, those “video doctors” sure do make compelling arguments. And let’s make no mistake about it… Meal prep videos can oftentimes be 100 percent irresistible.
Sticking to the plan long-term is perhaps the most important component of dieting. Reaching your weight loss goals may be as simple as eating natural foods and limiting your caloric intake.
Makes sense. Put the right amounts of the right fuel into your body, and reap the rewards of a healthy body and physique. Raising your activity levels will also prove beneficial (obviously).
This, of course, is conventional wisdom. And this is for good reason!
Even still, if you’re trying to stick to a particular plan, you may want to stay the course. Many diets put more of an emphasis on macro-nutrient ratios. And it’s generally not advised to mess around with those, if you’re trying to maximize your weight loss.
Keep your eye on the prize! Don’t stray.
