There are obviously many diet plans in the world. It can be overwhelming to decide.
For this reason, once a particular diet has been chosen, and prepping healthy meals is the next step, you want to avoid looking outside of your chosen diet for meal options. Wavering could be detrimental to your weight loss success. You could very well find yourself starting all over.
This is why you definitely want to compile a small library of recipes that fit within your particular diet plan. So if you’ve chosen the ketogenic diet as your weight loss method, for example, then you ONLY want those types of recipes in your library… and nothing else.
Know what I mean?
I’ve been guilty of hopping from one diet to the next. And when I really think about it, there’s only one reason why…
On a low-sugar diet, you crave sweets. On a low-calorie diet, you tend to crave calorie-rich foods. The grass always seems greener on the other side. Besides, those “video doctors” sure do make compelling arguments. And let’s tell the truth. Cooking videos are often 100% seductive. 😉
If you expect to see lasting results, you need to stick to your chosen plan of action. At the end of the day, eating healthy foods and not going into a crazy caloric surplus may be enough to help you reach your goals.
Makes sense to me. Control the calorie intake, eat clean, and the fat should come right off. This becomes even more powerful as you raise your activity levels.
Clearly, this is conventional weight loss advice. There’s probably good reason for this!
But even if your chosen diet isn’t a low-calorie model, you may still be well-served to stick with it long-term. With some diets, macro-nutrient ratios are more important than calories consumed. It could be detrimental to your results to stray from your diet’s particular ratio.
Please stay the course. Your future self will thank you for it!
