Alright, so let’s proceed…
There are obviously many diet plans in the world. You may be overwhelmed with your options. I know that I get overwhelmed with mine!
Therefore, once you’ve decided on a particular diet, and prepping healthy meals is the next step, you only want to seek out food and drink recipes that fit within that particular diet plan. It can really hinder your success to stray from your chosen path. It’ll likely take you back to the very beginning.
You’d be well served, for this very reason, to build up an online library of recipes within your chosen plan. If you’re going low-calorie, then compile low-calorie recipes. If you’re a low-carber, then you’ll want low-carb recipes.
I cannot overstate how important this is.
I only bring this up because I’ve been guilty of hopping from one plan to the next myself. And there’s really only one reason why…
You’ll typically develop a pretty powerful appetite for whatever your specific program won’t permit, which some completely different diet protocol encourages. The grass always seems greener on the other side. They say it’s healthy, after all. So it should be okay, right? And let’s make no mistake about it… Recipe videos are, in many cases, ridiculously irresistible. 😉
Clearly, you need to stick to your chosen diet plan long enough to see results. Of course, it could be said that any diet that focuses on all-natural foods and reasonable portion sizes can be enough all on its own.
I can certainly see the merit in that, even though I’m no diet or fitness guru. Control the calorie intake, eat clean, and the fat should come right off. This becomes even more powerful as you raise your activity levels.
Clearly, this is conventional wisdom. It probably earned its right to be!
Even still, if you’re trying to stick to a particular plan, you may want to stay the course. Diets are often effective because of their macro-nutrient ratios. And playing around too much with those may be something to steer clear of.
Stick to the plan. Give yourself a fighting chance!
