These days, there is simply an overabundance of diet plans. If you’re like me, you’re probably overwhelmed by all of the options.
I believe that as soon as a particular diet has been chosen, and it’s time to start menu planning, sticking to your chosen diet is of paramount importance. A lack of focus is often to blame for weight loss failure. It’ll probably have you returning to the beginning.
It’s really a good idea to build up a diet-focused recipe library on your computer or device. If you’re going low-calorie, then compile low-calorie recipes. If you’re a low-carber, then you’ll want low-carb recipes.
Pretty basic stuff, right?
In the past, I’ve definitely hopped from one thing to the next… like crazy. And I’ve done so for one simply reason…
On sugar-restriction, you crave sweets. On a low-calorie diet, you tend to crave calorie-rich foods. I mean, it’s still officially “diet food,” even if it’s not your diet… right? They say it’s healthy, after all. So it should be okay, right? And let’s be honest. Culinary videos are, in many cases, quite hard to resist. 😉
If you expect to see lasting results, you need to stick to your chosen plan of action. At the end of the day, eating healthy foods and not going into a crazy caloric surplus may be enough to help you reach your goals.
I can certainly see the merit in that, even though I’m no diet or fitness guru. Put the right amounts of the right fuel into your body, and reap the rewards of a healthy body and physique. This becomes even more powerful as you raise your activity levels.
This is surely the most popular weight loss model in existence. It probably earned its right to be!
But even if your chosen diet isn’t a low-calorie model, you may still be well-served to stick with it long-term. Many diets put more of an emphasis on macro-nutrient ratios. It could be detrimental to your results to stray from your diet’s particular ratio.
Give your chosen diet plan enough time to work for you. Then, if it doesn’t, at least you won’t have yourself to blame!
