Diet plans clearly abound. The sheer volume of diet options is ridiculously overwhelming.
That’s why I believe that, as soon as you’ve decided on a particular diet, and it’s time to start menu planning, you want to avoid looking outside of your chosen diet for meal options. Wavering could be detrimental to your weight loss success. You may very well end up having to start all over from scratch.
Building up a diet-focused recipe library on your computer is a great idea, for this very reason. If you’re going low-calorie, then compile low-calorie recipes. If you’re a low-carber, then you’ll want low-carb recipes.
It’s basic but hugely important.
I’ve been guilty of hopping from one diet to the next. The reason for this is actually quite simple…
On low-carb, you crave carbs. On sugar-restriction, you crave sweets. I mean, it’s still officially “diet food,” even if it’s not your diet… right? Besides, those “video doctors” sure do make compelling arguments. And let’s call a spade a spade… Recipe videos can be 100% seductive. 😉
But the thing is, for any diet plan to work effectively, you really need to stick to it. Calorie reduction and fresh, healthy foods and drinks are said to be the most surefire way to lose weight healthfully.
I can certainly see the merit in that, even though I’m no diet or fitness guru. Don’t pig out all day, steer clear of prepackaged junk, and you should see some pretty powerful results. Oh, and move that body of yours a little more! 😉
It’s common-sense weight loss. It probably earned its right to be!
Not all diets are calorically restrictive though. With some diets, macro-nutrient ratios are more important than calories consumed. Failure to adhere to your diet’s particular ratio may compromise your weight loss results.
At least stick with one thing long enough to see results!
