Diet plans are in no short supply, my friend. You may be overwhelmed with your options. I know that I get overwhelmed with mine!
For this reason, when you’ve decided on a particular diet, and it’s time to start menu planning, it’s important that you stay committed to your plan. A lack of focus is often to blame for weight loss failure. You’re very likely to find yourself in the frustrating position of starting all over from scratch.
This is why you definitely want to compile a small library of recipes that fit within your particular diet plan. So if you’re going low-carb, then build up a low-carb recipe library.
It’s basic, but hugely important.
Hopping from one diet to the next is certainly something that I’ve done in the past. And I’ve done so for one simply reason…
Food and beverages that one diet program doesn’t allow, some other diet program 100% allows, and perhaps even encourages. The grass always seems greener on the other side. And counter-arguments can be pretty compelling. And let’s tell the truth. Meal prep videos are often extremely seductive. 😉
Sticking to the plan long-term is perhaps the most important component of dieting. While each diet is completely unique in its approach, many say that healthy food and a slight caloric deficit are really all it take to help you reach your goals.
I’m no diet or fitness guru, but I see merit in that. Control the calorie intake, eat clean, and the fat should come right off. Raising your activity levels will also prove beneficial (obviously).
Clearly, this is the most popular weight loss model in existence. And it’s for good reason that it is!
Even still, if you’re trying to stick to a particular plan, you may want to stay the course. Many diets put more of an emphasis on macro-nutrient ratios. And you may not want to play around with those.
Stick to the plan. Give yourself a fighting chance!
