Clearly, there are many diet plans in the world. If you’re like me, you’re probably overwhelmed by all of the options.
It’s for this reason that, as soon as you’ve made your choice, and it’s time to start prepping weight loss meals, it’s important that you stay committed to your plan. It can really hinder your success to stray from your chosen path. You could very well wind up having to start all over from scratch.
This is why you definitely want to compile a small library of recipes that fit within your particular diet plan. So if you’re going low-carb, then build up a low-carb recipe library.
It’s basic, but hugely important.
I’ve been guilty of hopping from one plan to the next myself, which is why I bring this up. And there’s really only one reason why…
On a low-calorie diet, you tend to crave calorie-rich foods. On sugar-restriction, you crave sugar. I mean, it’s still officially “diet food,” even if it’s not your diet… right? Besides, those “video doctors” sure do make compelling arguments. And let’s tell the truth. Recipe videos can oftentimes be ridiculously seductive.
If you expect to see lasting results, you need to stick to your chosen plan of action. At the end of the day, eating healthy foods and not going into a crazy caloric surplus may be enough to help you reach your goals.
Makes sense. Don’t pig out all day, steer clear of prepackaged junk, and you should see some pretty powerful results. Oh, and move that body of yours a little more!
This is clearly standard, conventional wisdom. And it probably has that designation for a reason!
Not all diets are calorie restrictive though. Macro-nutrient ratios are a key focus of many diet plans out there. And it’s generally not advised to mess around with those, if you’re trying to maximize your weight loss.
Keep your eye on the prize! Don’t stray.
