There are simply far too many potential diet plans out there. You may be overwhelmed with your options. I know that I get overwhelmed with mine!
I believe that the moment the choice has been made, and prepping healthy meals is the next step, you want to avoid looking outside of your chosen diet for meal options. Wavering could be detrimental to your weight loss success. It’ll probably have you returning to the very beginning.
Building up a diet-focused recipe library on your computer is a great idea, for this very reason. So if you’re going low-carb, then build up a low-carb recipe library.
Hopping from one diet to the next is certainly something that I’ve done in the past. And when I really think about it, there’s only one reason why…
On calorie-restriction, you crave calorically-dense foods. On sugar-restriction, you crave sugar. The grass always seems greener on the other side. If the person on the screen tells you it’s healthy, you should probably eat it, yeah? And let’s not lie to ourselves. Meal prep videos can oftentimes be unbelievably knee-weakening. 😉
But the thing is, for any diet plan to work effectively, you really need to stick to it. At the end of the day, eating healthy foods and not going into a crazy caloric surplus may be enough to help you reach your goals.
Makes sense to me. Don’t pig out all day, steer clear of prepackaged junk, and you should see some pretty powerful results. Raising your activity levels will also prove beneficial (obviously).
This is conventional weight loss advice. As well it should be!
Of course, not all diet plans follow this model. And even if they don’t, you may want to stick with them anyway. Macro-nutrient ratios are a key focus of many diet plans out there. These are often pretty meticulously calculated, and straying from the prescribed ratio may jeopardize your results.
Keep your eye on the prize! Don’t stray.
