These days, there is simply an overabundance of diet plans. You may be overwhelmed with your options. I know that I get overwhelmed with mine!

That’s why I believe that, when you’ve decided on a particular diet, and it’s time to start menu planning, you only want to seek out food and drink recipes that fit within that particular diet plan. Straying from your original chosen plan may very well lead to failure. It will take you back to the starting line.

This is why you definitely want to compile a small library of recipes that fit within your particular diet plan. So if you’ve chosen the ketogenic diet as your weight loss method, for example, then you ONLY want those types of recipes in your library… and nothing else.

Pretty basic stuff, right? But it’s super important.

I’ve been guilty of hopping from one plan to the next myself, which is why I bring this up. The reason for this is actually quite simple…

You’re going to usually crave those foods that your program forbids you to consume, which an entirely different lifestyle totally encourages. It’s always super tempting to dabble. They say it’s healthy, after all. So it should be okay, right? And let’s call a spade a spade… Food videos are often undeniably seductive. šŸ˜‰

Choose a lifestyle that you’re thrilled to stick with. That’s how long-term results will be achieved. At the end of the day, eating healthy foods and not going into a crazy caloric surplus may be enough to help you reach your goals.

Makes sense when you really think about it. The fat should come right off if you control what and how much you eat and drink. This becomes even more powerful as you raise your activity levels.

Clearly, this is the world’s most popular weight loss advice. And it probably has that designation for a reason!

Of course, not all diet plans follow this model. And even if they don’t, you may want to stick with them anyway. With some diets, macro-nutrient ratios are more important than calories consumed. These are often pretty meticulously calculated, and straying from the prescribed ratio may jeopardize your results.

Keep your eye on the prize! Don’t stray.
