Here’s the story…
Diet plans are in no short supply, my friend. It can be overwhelming to decide.
Therefore, the moment you’ve made your choice, and you’re looking to prepare your own tasty meals, you want to avoid looking outside of your chosen diet for meal options. Failure to stay on your chosen path can prove detrimental. It’ll likely take you back to the very beginning.
Building up a diet-focused recipe library on your computer is a great idea, for this very reason. So if you’re going low-carb, then build up a low-carb recipe library.
Pretty basic stuff, right? But it’s super important.
I’ve been guilty of hopping from one plan to the next myself, which is why I bring this up. Why did I do this? Only one reason…
On a low-fat diet, you crave fat. On calorie-restriction, you crave calorically-dense foods. It’s always super tempting to dabble. They say it’s healthy, after all. So it should be okay, right? And let’s be honest. Cooking videos are usually undeniably will-shattering. 😉
But the thing is, for any diet plan to work effectively, you really need to stick to it. While each diet is completely unique in its approach, many say that healthy food and a slight caloric deficit are really all it take to help you reach your goals.
At the end of the day, it makes sense. The fat should come right off if you control what and how much you eat and drink. Raising your activity levels will also prove beneficial (obviously).
No doubt that this is conventional wisdom. And this is for good reason!
Calorie reduction isn’t the only game in town though. Macro-nutrient ratios are a key focus of many diet plans out there. It could be detrimental to your results to stray from your diet’s particular ratio.
Please stay the course. Your future self will thank you for it!
