Diet plans are in no short supply, my friend. If you’re like me, you’re probably overwhelmed by all of the options.
I believe that as soon as you’ve committed to a diet, and prepping healthy meals is the next step, you want to avoid looking outside of your chosen diet for meal options. Failure to stay on your chosen path can prove detrimental. You may just find yourself starting all over, from scratch.
Building up a diet-focused recipe library on your computer is a great idea, for this very reason. So if you’re going low-carb, then build up a low-carb recipe library.
The importance of this cannot be overstated.
In the past, I’ve definitely hopped from one thing to the next… like crazy. Why did I do this? Only one reason…
Items that one eating plan allows, and perhaps even encourages, some other diet plan is likely going to turn its nose up at. I mean, it’s still officially “diet food,” even if it’s not your diet… right? And counter-arguments can be pretty compelling. And let’s call a spade a spade… Recipe videos can oftentimes be extremely difficult to resist. 😉
Clearly, you need to stick to your chosen diet plan long enough to see results. Of course, it could be said that any diet that focuses on all-natural foods and reasonable portion sizes can be enough all on its own.
If you’re honest with yourself, I’m sure you’ll see the merit in that. The fat should come right off if you control what and how much you eat and drink. Raising your activity levels will also prove beneficial (obviously).
You’ll probably recognize this as conventional wisdom. And it probably has that designation for a reason!
Even still, if you’re trying to stick to a particular plan, you may want to stay the course. With some diets, macro-nutrient ratios are more important than calories consumed. And it’s generally not advised to mess around with those, if you’re trying to maximize your weight loss.
Give your chosen diet plan enough time to work for you. Then, if it doesn’t, at least you won’t have yourself to blame!
