Diet plans clearly abound. Choosing one diet over another can be a daunting task.
For this reason, once a particular diet has been chosen, and prepping healthy meals is the next step, you only want to seek out food and drink recipes that fit within that particular diet plan. Straying from your original chosen plan may very well lead to failure. It may just have you returning to the very beginning.
This is why you definitely want to compile a small library of recipes that fit within your particular diet plan. So if you’re going low-carb, then build up a low-carb recipe library.
Pretty basic stuff, right?
I only bring this up because I’ve been guilty of hopping from one plan to the next myself. And I’ve done so for one simply reason…
On low-calorie, you crave calories. On low-sugar, you crave sugar. The grass always seems greener on the other side. Besides, those “video doctors” sure do make compelling arguments. And one thing that’s clear… Recipe videos are oftentimes quite difficult to resist. 😉
Choose a lifestyle that you’re thrilled to stick with. That’s how long-term results will be achieved. While each diet is completely unique in its approach, many say that healthy food and a slight caloric deficit are really all it take to help you reach your goals.
At the end of the day, it makes sense. The fat should come right off if you control what and how much you eat and drink. This becomes even more powerful as you raise your activity levels.
This is surely common-sense weight loss. As well it should be!
Not all diets are calorically restrictive though. With some diets, macro-nutrient ratios are more important than calories consumed. And you may not want to play around with those.
Please stay the course. Your future self will thank you for it!
