Here’s the story…
There are simply far too many potential diet plans out there. Choosing one diet over another can be a daunting task.
That’s why I believe that, the moment you’ve made your choice, and prepping healthy meals is the next step, sticking to your chosen diet is of paramount importance. It can really hinder your success to stray from your chosen path. You may just end up starting from scratch again.
For this reason, I suggest starting a diet-focused recipe library. If you’re going low-calorie, then compile low-calorie recipes. If you’re a low-carber, then you’ll want low-carb recipes.
I cannot overstate how important this is.
I’ve been guilty of hopping from one plan to the next myself, which is why I bring this up. And when I really think about it, there’s only one reason why…
On low-calorie, you crave calorie-rich foods. On sugar-restriction, you crave sweets. I mean, it’s still officially “diet food,” even if it’s not your diet… right? And counter-arguments can be pretty compelling. And let’s make no mistake about it… Culinary videos are, in many instances, completely tough to resist. 😉
Sticking to the plan long-term is perhaps the most important component of dieting. Reaching your weight loss goals may be as simple as eating natural foods and limiting your caloric intake.
I can certainly see the merit in that, even though I’m no diet or fitness guru. Control the calorie intake, eat clean, and the fat should come right off. Add some exercise into the mix and look out!
This is clearly standard, conventional wisdom. And it probably has that designation for a reason!
Of course, not all diet plans follow this model. And even if they don’t, you may want to stick with them anyway. Macro-nutrient ratios are a key focus of many diet plans out there. And it’s generally not advised to mess around with those, if you’re trying to maximize your weight loss.
Stick to the plan. Give yourself a fighting chance!
